A week in Japan

It’s hard to believe how such a short time can give you so much energy and joy. After almost three months I was able to return to Japan and I felt like home.
My friend was waiting for me and we spend some really nice days in 狭山市.
I made a bit – really only a bit – of research about finding a job in Japan and I can tell it will be more difficult than I thought. I talked to company providing one to one english lessons for Japanese wanting to learn english as well as tried my luck in the foreign job office in Tokyo. This was rather a weird experience. On the one hand I wasn’t actually allowed to talk to them for being only a tourist on the other hand they were really helpful, although I didn’t get what I wanted. I was told the only possibility for me to go to Japan is on terms of a Working Holiday Visa and that I have to go back to my country after one year.
Funny enough they asked me “Why do you want to work in Japan?” As if that was their problem. And then the question I always fear “Do you have a degree?” and my reaction “hmm, no“…then you hear “hmmmmmmmm” and then 難しい which sounds “muzukashii” –>; Difficult.
That’s the moment I realized again: I won’t be able to go to Japan by being lucky, so I need a plan. That’s why I will start today with my new plan by changing the name of this blog:
Diazan – Escape to Japan
Dear Japanese Migration office, I don’t mean I will fly to Japan and hide in some place just to be in Japan even without Visa. I will get my Working Holiday Visa when I think I have saved enough money to buy a new car – which should be equivalent to have enough money to survive some months should I not be able to find a job easily. I dream of an one year trip to Japan to find a employer and hopefully stay there much much longer!! When? Time will tell.
If you have any connections to Japan and wish to make your own statement on my blog in form of a guest entry, feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Andrés
