Approve or improve

Some may say my last post was a bit too harsh – you may be right.

On my first evening in Amsterdam, while having a “palm bier” I saw a poster with a writing on it:

“When we criticize, let’s show how to fix the faults we find. Approve or improve!”

I liked it! So let me give you an impression of things you shouldn’t miss while seeing Amsterdam:

Café De Tuin, located in the Jordaan District (nope, they are not Chicago Bulls fans :-) ) is a small café with a great variety of guests, including a lot of locals. You may not find a place to sit in the beginning – but let’s be honest…that’s no reason to leave. Just stand somewhere like the other people do, they won’t bother. If you’re not in the mood of wine try some dutch beer – just for the experience, not the taste.

Café ‘t Smalle is one of the best spots to have a double espresso and just let time pass while you have a look at your surroundings and tourists passing by. If you’re lucky – we were, fortunately – you can even sit on the terrace next to the “Gracht” and you will see all kinds of boats passing by, some of them loaded with tourists having a good time or maybe with a neighbour looking for a place to park…

I’ll be walking around for some hours today, and I’ll try to write some more things during these next days.

Wish you a great time,

Andrés
